Critical Commentary
The Yamuna River Project is an interdisciplinary research program between University of Virginia, Tulane University, the Embassy of Spain in India, Delhi Jal Board (state organisation for water provisioning in Delhi) to revitalize conceptually and spatially Delhi's highly toxic river Yamuna which has historically served as a marker for Delhi as a city. It has created spatial and lived knowledges about the river, such as concentrations of toxicities at Delhi's urban edges, mapping Delhi's waste, mapping Delhi's landfills, complexities of urban water governance, Delhi's ecology and public space, and visualizing empires along the river.
