Critical Commentary
After continued anti-refugee protests against the 500 Yemeni refugees, the above picture showed Syrian refugees holding signs written in Korean explaining their situation: “I will die if I have to return back to Syria,” “We are Syrian refugees,” “We are refugees that need asylum.” They were there in support of the recent arrival of Yemeni refugees who arrived on Jeju Island, demonstrating the social networks between refugees in general all over South Korea.
